PLAYSTYLE & SCHEME FIT
Shemar Stewart is a high-upside defensive lineman with a rare blend of size, explosiveness, and raw power. He boasts a prototype NFL frame, elite speed-to-power conversion, and an ability to collapse the pocket with force. His ability to play inside or outside adds to his positional versatility, making him an attractive fit for multiple defensive fronts. However, his lack of refined hand usage and pass-rush plan limits his current impact as a pure pass-rusher. While Stewart's sack production has been underwhelming, his physical gifts are undeniable, and with NFL coaching, he could develop into a dominant defensive force. Best suited as a 4-3 base defensive end or a 3-4 hybrid edge defender.
CEILING GRADE ANALYSIS
Near Elite (70-74)
A high-caliber prospect who is expected to become a significant contributor by Year 2. These players have outstanding physical tools and strong football IQ, with only minor flaws in their game. They demonstrate consistency at a high level and project as future Pro Bowl-caliber players if properly developed.
